But in the meantime, I've decided (partly out of laziness because I did not have the energy to haul everything out of the garage this holiday season) to make the ornaments for the tree with my daughter this Xmas. I wanted it to be a crafty holiday season. Ellie has taken to arts and crafts like a duck to water. Makes me all sorts of happy to have a kid who loves crayons and paint and glitter as much as I do.
We started out with making salt dough ornaments.
Then we did a few ornament decoration projects we found at local craft stores:
After decorating the tree we decided to have a go at one of those pre made - decorate your own gingerbread house kits.
And the results:
It didn't turn out exactly like the picture on the box. I found it was missing some of the candy pieces and should have had, in my opinion, 2 bags of frosting inside.
And last, but not least . . . the little one's first letter to Santa - as it was dictated to me. The letter is decorated by my 3 year old.
