valentine's day 2015

Yikes -  here is one I haven't posted yet . . was in the midst of showing our home and searching for a new one -  while pregnant . . so many things slipped through the cracks during that time.

I'm still trying to catch up!

That year for my daughter's kindergarten class, she gave everyone a "Make Your Own Valentine Kit", and a small bag of candy.

Each Valentine kit was put together from my large stash of doilies and heart shaped foam stickers and paper stock. (We love making Valentines in this house.)  Each bag had different contents.

staff appreciation day

For staff appreciation day at my daughter's school, I whipped up a batch of double chocolate toffee (I added the toffee to the existing recipe) for her teachers, principal, school secretary and school crossing guard and packaged them up with a small note.

easter 2016

A small Easter sweet/gift for my daughter's classmates.

Marshmallow peeps on straws!

The hard part was just finding the right color peep to match the paper straws I found.

st patricks day 2016

A couple of fun St. Patricks Day crafts I prepped for my daughter's 1st grade class.

The rainbows were mounted on half of a paper plate.

sweets

Another addition to my sweet repertoire . . made quite a few of these last year for the Christmas Fair for my daughter's school last year.

Chocolate dipped pretzels.  So easy and so pretty.

And delicious!

(I'm partial to the dark chocolate dipped ones myself!)

Also I  can individually wrap them for sale. Perfect for parties or bake sales.

valentines day 2016

This year, besides the homemade Valentines we usually made . . .

I decided to have a go at making lollipop flowers from a Pinterest pin.

Also I was asked to prep the craft for the class party.  I made heart shaped sun catchers by using clear contact, tissue paper squares, stickers and cardstock.

halloween 2015 - class treats

For my daughter's 1st grade class, I wrapped some chocolate bars with crepe paper, added goggly eyes and silly jokes to make mummy bars.

halloween 2015 - teen titans go

My goodness, has it been a year since I've had a chance to update this blog?

My sincerest apologies.

Well, since my last post, I've had a baby, sold a home, bought a home and moved in.  Basically its been a day to day process of making the new place livable, unpacking boxes, still searching for items and dealing with a newborn.

The newborn in now a precocious 1 year old who has an abundance of energy -wish I could bottle that - so most thing have been put aside because I focus most of my time on him and my 6 year old.

So these next few posts will just be recaps of the few crafts I've been able to squeeze in since the previous post.

With Halloween of last year, my daughter came to me with a request.  Her newest favorite TV show is Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network.

She asked me to make her and her brother costumes from the show.

She requested to be Raven.  See reference photos below.

She asked that I make her baby brother a Beast Boy costume.

I also decided to make Raven's spell book for my daughter out of a hollow paper mache book, so she could collect her Halloween candy in it.

Here is what I came up with.
